The Bell House Life Skills Roodepoort is an adult Life Skills Training Centre based in Allen’s Nek, Roodepoort, Johannesburg, and it is registered with the Department of Social Development (NPO: 254-042).
The centre supports adults who face burnout, trauma, stress, and mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. In addition, the team helps each client build strong daily habits. As a result, clients improve how they manage emotions and relationships. The programme also focuses on practical life skills that support long-term growth.
The centre offers structured life skills training. This includes workshops, social activities, and community projects. Clients also receive both individual and group coaching. Because of this, each person gets support that suits their needs.
Furthermore, the support programme focuses on emotional well-being and self-awareness. Clients learn how to manage stress better. They also learn how to build healthy relationships with family and friends. In turn, this helps them feel more confident and stable in daily life.
Clients can choose between part-time and full-time programmes. This allows flexibility based on their personal needs. Some clients attend during the day, while others follow a full schedule. Therefore, each person can progress at a pace that works best for them.
In addition, the centre offers residential accommodation. Clients who stay on-site take part in daily household tasks. For example, they help with cleaning and basic maintenance. This builds responsibility and routine. At the same time, it creates a sense of community.
Residents must keep their living spaces clean and maintain good personal hygiene. This rule helps create a safe and respectful environment. Moreover, it teaches discipline and independence.
All clients also follow clear rules and guidelines. These rules apply to staff and volunteers as well. Because of this, everyone contributes to a structured and supportive space. As a result, the environment stays calm and organised.
The centre follows a strict zero tolerance policy for drugs and alcohol. No one may use or bring these substances onto the property. If someone breaks this rule, the centre will remove them from the programme. In some cases, legal action may follow.
These policies protect all clients. They also ensure that the space remains focused on healing and growth. Therefore, clients can feel safe and supported at all times.
The Bell House focuses on helping clients build meaningful and connected lives. Through daily practice, clients develop strong life skills. They also improve emotional control and social interaction.
In the long term, these skills help clients return to everyday life with confidence. They become more independent and better prepared for challenges. Ultimately, the centre supports each person on their journey toward a stable and fulfilling future.
