Description

About

A Registered Counsellor serves as a vital first point of contact for mental health support, offering accessible psychological services to individuals, families, groups, and communities. The role focuses on preventative and developmental interventions that enhance psychosocial well-being, ensuring individuals receive the support they need to navigate life’s challenges.

With a commitment to promoting mental health, I provide psychological interventions tailored to support emotional functioning and well-being. My approach includes conducting screenings, performing psychometric assessments, and offering psychoeducation to foster awareness and resilience. In collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, I work to restore adaptive functioning and refer clients to appropriate professionals as needed.

My Journey

I began my academic career with an undergraduate degree in Applied Psychology from the University of Cape Town. After spending 16 years in the media industry as a magazine editor and digital marketing consultant, I felt called to return to psychology. I completed a post-graduate psychology programme, earning my Bachelor of Arts Honours in Psychology (Equivalent), followed by a six-month practicum and the HPCSA Board Exam, allowing me to register as a professional Counsellor.

Throughout my career, I have worked with diverse clients facing trauma, grief, identity struggles, stress, anxiety, and life transitions. I understand the profound impact of counselling and remain committed to making mental health support accessible, personalised, and effective.
