Caitlin Vinson Counselling Psychologist Faerie Glen offers a safe and caring space where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions, and personal growth.
Caitlin works as an English-speaking Counselling Psychologist and holds registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). She creates a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental space where clients feel heard and understood. As a result, clients can explore their inner world and grow with confidence.
She earned a Bachelor of Science with Distinction and a Bachelor of Science Honours in Psychology with Distinction from Rhodes University. After that, she completed her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at the University of Pretoria. Over time, she gained valuable experience at several clinics and practices. In 2019, she opened her private practice in Faerie Glen.
Caitlin uses different therapy methods to support each client’s needs. First, she uses Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) to help clients change negative thinking patterns. This approach often helps with many mental health challenges.
In addition, she uses Narrative Therapy. This method helps clients reshape their life stories and build a stronger sense of control. When she works with children, she applies play therapy techniques. These tools allow children to express emotions in a natural and safe way.
During the first session, Caitlin gathers important background information. Then, she creates a clear treatment plan. She also discusses how many sessions may help and how long the process may take. This step helps clients feel prepared and informed from the start.
Caitlin built strong experience by working in different settings. She worked at Jacaranda Children’s Homes, where she focused on child psychology. She also worked at the High Performance Centre, where she supported sports and performance needs.
Furthermore, she worked at the University of Pretoria Counselling Centre. She also gained experience at Stabilis Treatment Centre, which focuses on drug and alcohol recovery. In addition, she worked at The Glen Methodist Church Pastoral Care Centre.
Caitlin offers both in-person and online therapy sessions. Online sessions provide a simple and flexible option for many clients. She sends clear instructions, along with a secure link and password.
Clients need a stable internet connection, a private space, and a device with a camera and microphone. This setup ensures a smooth and comfortable session.
Caitlin values the therapy journey and encourages clients to choose the right therapist. She believes a safe, confidential, and caring space supports real change. Outside her work, she enjoys family life as a Christian, wife, and mother. She also loves outdoor activities and adventure.
