About Ali Binns

Welcome to my practice! I’m Ali Binns, a therapist with specialisation in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT), and Mindfulness. Although I am currently on a break to focus on an exciting new project, I continue to offer mindfulness training. Before transitioning into therapy, I worked in the publishing industry, gaining valuable experience in various editorial roles. This background, combined with my professional training, allows me to offer a unique and communicative approach to therapy. As a mother of two teenage boys, I understand the challenges of balancing both personal and professional life. My goal is to provide a warm, non-judgmental space where you can explore your challenges and regain a sense of clarity.

I am a Senior Accredited therapist with The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society and I remain committed to my ongoing professional development. Regularly attending workshops ensures that I’m up to date with the latest therapeutic methods. You can be confident that I provide the highest level of care and attention.

Services Offered

While I am not accepting new therapy clients at the moment, I offer the following services:

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT works by helping you understand how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are interconnected. I’ll guide you through identifying negative thought patterns and introduce strategies to change them. Using the ABC Model, we can address your beliefs and their impact on emotions and actions, empowering you to respond to challenges with greater clarity.

Mindfulness Training
Mindfulness is a powerful practice for managing stress and improving overall mental wellbeing. Through mindfulness, you can learn to stay present and reduce the influence of negative thought cycles. I offer workshops where you can explore mindfulness techniques that can be applied in daily life for improved emotional balance.

REBT and ACT
In addition to CBT, I incorporate Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) into my practice. Both of these methods are highly effective in addressing negative thinking and building emotional resilience, allowing you to cultivate a more fulfilling and grounded life.

Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)
CFT is especially useful for individuals struggling with self-criticism and low self-compassion. This therapy helps you develop a kinder, more compassionate approach towards yourself, providing tools to overcome negative emotions and build self-worth.
