D.ness Physio Solutions Physiotherapist Durban, Dr. Dieudonnée Ness provides expert physiotherapy care with a focus on oncology, pelvic health, vestibular rehabilitation, and pulmonary conditions. Our goal is to support patients from early intervention through to full recovery. We also help patients regain function and improve their quality of life.
D.ness Physio Solutions offers physiotherapy care for patients with complex medical needs, post-surgical recovery needs, and chronic conditions. In addition, our care covers oncology, pelvic health, vestibular rehabilitation, pulmonary conditions, and other areas of physiotherapy.
Dr. Dieudonnée Ness is a highly qualified and experienced physiotherapist with a passion for oncology and patient advocacy. She earned her BSc. Hons in Physiotherapy from Wits University in 1990. Later, she completed an MSc. at University College London in 1997. Her research focused on diagnostic tests for meniscal knee injuries.
After returning to South Africa in 2002, she expanded her skills in Lymphoedema management. She gained certification through ACOLS in Florida, USA. Furthermore, she completed her PhD research within the government healthcare sector. Her doctoral thesis was titled “Clavipectoral Fascia Release and its Impact on Lymphoedema in Breast Cancer Women of KwaZulu-Natal.”
Dr. Ness has received several prestigious awards. These include the Sceales Antrobus Prize in 2016 at the Surgical Research Society of South Africa conference. She has also presented her research at international conferences, including the 12th Academic Surgical Conference in Las Vegas in 2017 and the World Confederation of Physiotherapy in Cape Town in 2017.
She remains committed to improving oncology physiotherapy care. She also advocates for better patient outcomes in mixed-resource settings.

Our services include oncological physiotherapy, pelvic and women’s health, vestibular and balance rehabilitation, pulmonary and post-COVID rehabilitation, musculoskeletal and orthopaedic care, and stress and trauma management.
Oncological physiotherapy includes Lymphoedema assessment and treatment, post-mastectomy bra and prosthesis assessment, and post-surgical physiotherapy for cancer patients. Pelvic and women’s health care includes treatment for pelvic floor dysfunction, support for pre- and post-natal conditions, and rehabilitation for post-surgical pelvic pain.
Vestibular and balance rehabilitation provides specialised therapy for dizziness and vertigo, as well as balance retraining for fall prevention. Pulmonary care includes rehabilitation for COPD and recovery programmes for post-COVID-19 lung complications.
Musculoskeletal and orthopaedic care covers spinal and limb injury assessment and treatment. It also includes rehabilitation after fractures, joint replacements, or surgery. In addition, stress and trauma management includes Trauma Release Exercises (TRE) for stress reduction and emotional well-being.
