Dr. Allison Moore is a highly skilled urologist surgeon based in Pinelands, Cape Town, South Africa. She specializes in urology with a focus on urogynaecology, ensuring patients receive personalized and effective care.

Growing up in Cape Town, Dr. Moore attended Micklefield Girls’ School. Later, in 1999, her family moved to Knysna, where she gained early medical exposure by working in her father’s family medicine practice during school holidays. This hands-on experience sparked her passion for medicine.

She completed her medical degree at the University of Cape Town (UCT) in 2010. During this period, she became deeply involved in community-based healthcare. Actively participating in SHAWCO (Students’ Health and Welfare Centres Organisation), she took on leadership roles. In her final year, she served as President of SHAWCO Health, a position that led to her receiving the UCT Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Student Affairs’ Student Leader Award in 2010.

After medical school, Dr. Moore pursued her internship in Pietermaritzburg before moving to Kimberley in the Northern Cape for community service. Her enthusiasm for surgery continued throughout her training. At Gray’s Hospital, she developed a keen interest in urology, which shaped the direction of her career.

Following community service, she gained experience as a medical officer in urology and general surgery. In 2016, she was accepted into the UCT urology training program, where she honed her surgical expertise. She became a Fellow with the College of Urologists of South Africa in 2020. Currently, she is completing super-specialist training in urogynaecology at UCT, making her the first urologist in South Africa to undergo this accredited fellowship.

Outside of her medical practice, Dr. Moore enjoys a fulfilling family life with her husband, Dr. Ryan Moore, a dedicated paediatrician.
