Dr Amenah Shaikh and her dedicated team provide top-quality orthodontic care in a welcoming and comfortable environment. With practices in Rondebosch East and Strand, they cater to patients of all ages, ensuring personalised treatment plans that lead to healthy, beautiful smiles.

Dr Shaikh has always been passionate about healthcare and education. Raised in a small town, she pursued her dream of becoming a medical professional, overcoming challenges to complete her dental degree with distinction. She initially specialised in Oral Medicine and Periodontics before following her passion for orthodontics. In 2000, she successfully completed her specialist orthodontic training.

Today, Dr Shaikh balances both academia and private practice. As an Associate Professor and Senior Consultant in the Department of Orthodontics at the University of the Western Cape, she remains committed to education and research. Meanwhile, at her private practices, she focuses on delivering expert orthodontic care. She is also recognised as the first woman of colour to qualify as a specialist orthodontist in South Africa.

Her greatest satisfaction comes from transforming her patients’ smiles and boosting their confidence, self-esteem, and overall well-being.
