About

Dr. Chris Venter is a highly esteemed fertility specialist at Vitalab. He earned his MBChB from the University of Pretoria in 1994 and completed his post-graduate studies in 2002. Moreover, he pursued a preceptorship in endoscopic surgery at Leuven University in Belgium under the mentorship of Prof. Phillippe Koninckx. After qualifying, he practiced as a general obstetrician for 12 years in the private sector. Subsequently, he sub-specialized in reproductive medicine by completing his fellowship training at the University of Stellenbosch under the guidance of Prof. Thinus Kruger. In addition, his research focused on pre-genetic screening in embryo selection, which has influenced his clinical practice. Consequently, since joining the Vitalab Reproductive Centre in 2013, Dr. Venter has specialized in all aspects of infertility care. Furthermore, he has a particular clinical interest in recurrent implantation failure and the role of endometrial receptivity. Additionally, he serves as an associate lecturer at the University of the Free State and has been a member of the SASREG executive board since 2014. Finally, he is dedicated to raising awareness for oncofertility in South Africa.
