Dr. Chrisa Weyers is a General Psychiatrist with 24 years of specialized experience in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She initially worked as a General Practitioner in Canada before shifting her focus to Paediatrics and Paediatric Oncology. Dr. Weyers has also served as a Consultant Psychiatrist in the Department of Paediatrics at the University of the Free State, in addition to working in Adult Oncology.
In 2010, Dr. Weyers co-founded M-CARE Optima, a 72-bed psychiatric hospital in Bloemfontein, where she was Head of the Adolescent Unit. In 2017, her personal journey led her to Stellenbosch, where she continues to provide care to children and adolescents facing mental health challenges. Dr. Weyers and her team specialize in treating a wide range of mental health issues such as mood disorders, anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress, autism spectrum disorders, and more.
