Dr Schneeberger provides a full spectrum of radiation oncology services, each designed for optimal tumour control and patient comfort:
External Beam Radiotherapy – utilises advanced linear accelerators with 3D conformal and Intensity-Modulated Radiotherapy (IMRT) for precise dose delivery.
Image-Guided Radiotherapy (IGRT) – real-time CT or X-ray verification to maximise accuracy and spare healthy tissue.
Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT) – delivers high-dose treatments in fewer sessions for small lung, liver, and spinal lesions.
Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) – single-fraction, high-precision radiotherapy for brain metastases and intracranial tumours.
High-Dose-Rate Brachytherapy – internal radiation application for prostate, cervical, and selected head-and-neck cancers.
Adaptive Radiotherapy – daily imaging allows on-the-fly plan adjustments based on tumour or anatomical changes.
Treatment Planning & Simulation – CT/MRI-based sessions using Oncentra software to create individualized dose distributions.
Palliative Radiotherapy – symptom-relief protocols that enhance quality of life for advanced-stage patients.
Combination Therapy Coordination – integrates chemotherapy schedules with radiotherapy for synergistic treatment outcomes.
Supportive Care Consultation – pain-management strategies, nutritional guidance, and referrals to allied specialists.
Each service is delivered in specially shielded bunkers equipped with motion-management systems and surface-guided breath-hold technology, ensuring both safety and convenience.
Mediclinic Cape Gate’s oncology centre features a dedicated CT simulator, an in-house treatment planning lab, and private consulting suites that foster confidentiality and comfort. Moreover, the weekly Multidisciplinary Tumour Board—including medical oncologists, surgical oncologists, physicists, radiographers, and nursing specialists—reviews every case to refine care pathways.
