Meet Dr Franelise Hofmeyr

Dr Franelise Hofmeyr trained at the University of Stellenbosch, Tygerberg medical campus. She earned her MBChB and completed her Masters of Medicine in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. In 2012 she became a Fellow of the College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FCOG) with the College of Medicine of South Africa. Since 2013 she has practised at Christiaan Barnard Memorial Hospital. With two children of her own, she understands the balance between a busy career and family life. Her goal is to support women at every stage of life.

Obstetric Care Services

Dr Hofmeyr offers comprehensive care for expectant mothers. She monitors your pregnancy from early stages to delivery planning. We focus on both your health and your unborn baby’s wellbeing. We answer your questions, explain tests, and make sure you feel confident about your pregnancy journey.

Gynaecological Services

We provide a full range of general gynaecological care. This includes Pap smears and HPV testing to screen for cervical changes. We also guide you through menopause with hormone options and safe alternatives. We perform pelvic ultrasounds for accurate diagnosis. Annual gynaecological check-ups help you stay on top of your health.

Fertility and Family Planning

If you need fertility advice, we offer supportive consultations that explain your options. We help you understand investigations, treatment choices, and next steps. For family planning, we provide contraceptive counselling tailored to your lifestyle and needs.
