Dr. Jacqueline McKinnon is a registered clinical psychologist offering psychological assessment and psychotherapy to individuals aged 18 and older. She specialises in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT). However, when needed, she also integrates techniques from other approaches, including solution-focused therapy, mindfulness meditation, and dialectical-behavioural skills training.
Dr. McKinnon is a registered member of the College of Psychologists of Ontario. She grew up in London, Ontario, and completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Western Ontario. Later, she earned her Master’s and Doctoral degrees at York University, where she trained with Dr. Leslie Greenberg, a leading developer of Emotion-Focused Therapy.
Throughout her training, she gained extensive experience in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy. She completed coursework, workshops, and practical placements at institutions such as North York General Hospital and the York University Psychology Clinic. In 2013, she completed a pre-doctoral internship at The Ottawa Hospital, specialising in Chronic Pain Management and Urgent Care.
After finishing her clinical training, Dr. McKinnon returned to London. She worked with Dr. Patricia Doris and Associates and Brainworks: Client-Centred Rehabilitation. In 2019, she opened her own private practice, where she continues to provide expert psychological care.
Dr. McKinnon offers therapy in a safe, non-judgmental environment. She helps clients understand their thoughts and emotions while developing practical tools for lasting well-being.
