Dr. Karlheinz Jehle is a distinguished Urologist practicing in Pinelands, Cape Town. Born in Cape Town, he completed his MBChB at the University of the Free State in 1998. After two years in Zululand, he moved to England, working as a General Surgery trainee and obtaining his Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2006. Upon returning to South Africa, he completed his specialist urology training at Groote Schuur Hospital from 2007 to 2011, earning a Master’s Degree from the University of Cape Town with a dissertation on ultrasound-guided prostate biopsies. His academic excellence was recognized in 2012 when he received the Philip Smith Prize as the best postgraduate student in Urology.

Dr. Jehle has a broad interest in Urological Oncology, with expertise in prostate, bladder, and kidney cancer treatments. He introduced MRI-ultrasound fusion targeted biopsies of the prostate in South Africa in 2017, establishing a gold standard diagnostic approach. He is also highly experienced in laser enucleation of the prostate, utilizing Holmium and Thulium laser technology.

In addition to oncology, he practices Paediatric and Reconstructive Urology and performs microsurgical vasectomy reversals as well as microsurgical TESE procedures for patients undergoing assisted reproduction.
