Dr Kobie deJager OBGYN CapeTown brings energy, expertise, and compassion to women’s health. Her Background

Dr de Jager earned her MBBCh from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2010. She completed her internship and community service at Letaba Provincial Hospital, where she started performing many emergency caesareans and other urgent obstetric procedures. This experience shaped her deep commitment to proactive, preventative obstetric care.

Next, she worked as a general practitioner — first in a group practice in Phalaborwa, and then in Kathu — before joining Polokwane Provincial Hospital and Karl Bremer Hospital as a medical officer in O&G. She later pursued specialist registrar training at Tygerberg Academic Hospital from 2017 to 2021, where she completed her MMed (O&G) at the University of Stellenbosch. She also holds a Fellowship of the College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of South Africa.

With over eight years of medical experience and more than 200 babies delivered, Dr Kobie deJager applies a wealth of knowledge in her practice. Our patients, especially those with poor obstetric history, and stays current with the latest practices, including managing COVID-19 in pregnancy. She also enjoys teaching and skills development, empowering allied health professionals in her multidisciplinary approach.

She believes in open and honest communication, and she works in a warm yet professional environment. Her care philosophy is holistic: she supports not just the pregnant patient, but also post-partum recovery and breastfeeding, working with physiotherapists, lactation consultants, and other specialists when needed.
