Dr Marinda McDonald Allergist Randburg provides full allergy care that helps patients and families live better in Randburg and nearby areas.
We focus on finding the right treatment for each patient. We treat both children and adults with care and attention. We explain every step in a clear and simple way. As a result, patients understand their condition better. In addition, we create structured care plans that target both symptoms and triggers. This approach improves daily comfort and long-term health.
We treat many allergy conditions at our clinic. These include allergic rhinitis, allergic asthma, bee venom allergies, medication allergies, food allergies, eczema, chronic urticaria, salicylate allergies, and aspirin-exacerbated respiratory disease.
We also offer special services for better results. For example, our Early Introduction of Solids Clinic helps reduce allergy risks in children. We use Oral Immunotherapy to treat food allergies like peanuts, tree nuts, sesame, and fish. We also use Subcutaneous Immunotherapy for inhalant allergies such as grass, dust mites, and pet dander. In addition, we perform food and medication challenges in a safe setting. Our in-house dietician supports patients with easy and practical meal plans.
Dr Marinda McDonald leads the clinic with strong experience and training. She holds an MBChB from Pretoria, a Diploma in Allergy (SA), and a Certificate in Allergies from Southampton. She started this clinic to meet the growing need for expert allergy care in Randburg. She also chairs the Rhinitis working group at the Allergy Society of South Africa. In addition, she serves as an examiner for Allergology diplomas through the Colleges of Medicine.
The team includes Dr McDonald and a dietician. Together, they provide testing, treatment, and diet support. They also guide patients through follow-up care. This team effort ensures clear and complete care.
Allergies fall into two main groups. IgE-mediated allergies act fast and show within two hours. Symptoms include sneezing, itching, hives, or breathing problems. Non-IgE allergies act slowly and may take hours or days. These often cause stomach issues or long-term skin problems.
We help patients understand their allergy type. We guide them through testing options step by step. We also explain results in simple terms. Therefore, patients feel confident in their treatment plan.
We provide expert care with a personal approach. Patients receive both basic and advanced treatments in one place. We also offer diet support for food allergies. Every procedure follows strict safety steps. As a result, patients feel safe and supported.
If you or a loved one struggles with allergies, contact us today. We assess your needs, choose the right tests, and guide you clearly. In the end, we help you manage allergies and improve your quality of life.
