About Dr Marion Anderson

Dr Marion Anderson was born and raised in Cape Town’s Southern Suburbs. She grew up in Rondebosch and followed in her parents’ footsteps by pursuing a medical degree at UCT’s Faculty of Health Sciences. In 1989, she graduated with an MBChB degree and began her career with an internship at Frere Hospital in East London.

During her six years as a Medical Officer at Frere, she was selected for a Family Medicine rotation. This experience allowed her to work across multiple hospital departments, shaping her expertise in general practice.

A Passion for General Practice with Dr Marion Anderson

Marion successfully established her own private practice in East London. For 20 years, she served her patients with dedication while balancing her role as a mother to two daughters.

In 2016, she and her family relocated to Cape Town. Initially, she worked in the psychiatric wards at Victoria Hospital, gaining valuable experience in mental health care.

Joining Brampton Family Practice

Dr Marion Anderson General Practice Claremont became her professional home when she joined Brampton Family Practice in 2017. She now co-owns the practice with Dr Andrea Watkins-Neethling and continues to provide compassionate and expert medical care.

Beyond medicine, Marion enjoys hosting gatherings, experimenting with new recipes, and exploring South Africa’s hidden gems on road trips. She and her husband share their home with Thuli, their German Shepherd, Joey, a Golden Retriever, and Molly, their cherished cat.
