Dr Noma Mbungu Obstetrician Bellville has always had a strong passion for helping women. From an early age, she knew she wanted to make a difference in people’s lives. Although she grew up in humble circumstances, she worked hard to achieve her goal of becoming a doctor.

Her academic achievements earned her a scholarship from the Premier of the Eastern Cape. This allowed her to study at the University of Cape Town. During her fourth year of study, her interest in Obstetrics and Gynaecology grew as she saw young patients affected by preventable conditions, including cervical cancer.

After completing her MBChB at UCT in 2010, Dr Mbungu continued her studies to become a specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She obtained her FCOG (SA) from the College of Medicine of South Africa and completed her MMed in O&G at Stellenbosch University in 2018.

Her passion for fertility medicine led her to complete a Certificate in Reproductive Medicine with a Cum Laude distinction in 2023. She is also currently pursuing an MPhil in Reproductive Medicine to further grow her knowledge and skills in this field.

Dr Noma Mbungu Obstetrician Bellville has gained valuable experience in both public and private healthcare. She worked at Nelson Mandela Academic Hospital, Groote Schuur Hospital, and Tygerberg Hospital.

At Tygerberg Hospital, she also worked as a lecturer, where she taught undergraduate and postgraduate students. Her areas of expertise include general gynaecology, fertility care, obstetrics, and endoscopic surgery. In addition, she has a special interest in managing endometriosis and helping couples achieve their family goals.
