Dr Pieter J de Waal completed his pediatric specialization in 2008 at the University of the Free State. Since then, he has worked in private practice, treating children with general medical issues as well as specialized allergies. He is passionate about teaching and has been a Senior Lecturer and Allergy Consultant at the University of the Free State since 2012.

Dr de Waal has a strong focus on pediatric asthma and allergies. In 2017, he obtained a National Certificate in Asthma Care, and in 2018, he earned his Diploma in Allergy from the College of Medicine of South Africa, graduating cum laude. He became a subspecialist in Allergology in 2019 at the University of Cape Town at Red Cross Children’s Hospital. Currently, he practices at Mediclinic Panorama to provide high-quality care for children and expand essential allergy services.
