Dr. Prenevin Govender is a specialist Urologist based in Cape Town, South Africa. Born in Port Elizabeth, he attended St Georges Preparatory School and Theodor Herzl High School, where he graduated at the top of his class. He completed his MBChB at the University of Cape Town in 2001. Subsequently, he pursued postgraduate training at the same institution, obtaining his Fellowship of the College of Urologists in May 2009. In 2010, he earned a Master’s in Medicine with distinction from the University of Cape Town. ​

Dr. Govender’s commitment to advancing his skills led him to acquire several super-specialty qualifications. He holds a Diploma in Laparoscopic Surgery from the University of Strasbourg in France. Additionally, he completed a mini-fellowship in Endourology at the Muljibhai Patel Urological Hospital in Gujarat, India. His training also includes the European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology teaching course on Brachytherapy in Prostate Cancer in Avignon, France. Furthermore, he has completed fundamental and advanced training in Pelvic Floor Neuromodulation in Antwerp, Belgium, and Aarhus University Hospital in Denmark, respectively. ​

Currently, Dr. Govender consults full-time at Life Kingsbury Hospital in Claremont. He also extends his expertise to the community by providing pro bono services as a consultant urologist at Victoria Hospital in Wynberg. ​
