Dr Rowland Rees qualified in Medicine in 1995 at Barts and The London Hospital School of Medicine, earning an intercalated degree in Physiology with First Class Honours. Following this, he completed A&E training at the Royal London before undergoing general surgical training at St George’s and the Royal Marsden Hospitals in London.
Dr Rees then specialised in urology on the Wessex Urological training programme, before undertaking a sub-specialist Fellowship in Andrology & Genito-urethral Surgery at the Institute of Urology in London. After a year as a locum consultant at UCLH, he served as a Consultant General Urologist in Winchester for four years. In 2013, Dr Rees moved to University Hospital Southampton, where he established a regional Andrology service for the central south coast area of England.
Dr Rowland Rees is not only dedicated to patient care but also plays an active role in advancing the field. He currently serves as secretary of the BAUS section of Andrology and Genito-urethral Surgery. Additionally, Dr Rees is heavily involved in teaching and training surgeons, both in the UK and abroad.
