Dr Steven Tao GP Sheffield provides high-quality, community-focused care at Carrfield Medical Centre, part of Heeley Plus Primary Care Network. We prioritise your health, offering prompt appointments, reliable medical advice, and compassionate support tailored to your needs.
Booking an appointment is fast and easy with our online request form. This is the most efficient way to reach our clinical team. However, if you have accessibility needs, please call us on 0114 258 4724. Otherwise, our reception team may guide you to use the form.
Please avoid using this form in emergencies. Instead, dial 999 or contact NHS 111 for urgent help.
If you’re unwell and require urgent care, contact us as early as possible. A GP will call to assess your symptoms. If needed, you’ll receive a same-day appointment without delay.
Routine appointments such as smear tests or vaccinations can be booked by phone. Moreover, if you scheduled online using a self-booking link, you can amend your appointment up to 12 hours in advance. Conversely, call us if you need to cancel closer to the time.
We provide home visits for patients who are truly housebound or too unwell to attend the clinic. For this reason, please call before 10:30 AM so the medical team can plan appropriately.
Examples of qualifying patients include those with terminal illness or mobility issues that make travel risky. However, if you can safely come to the clinic, we encourage you to do so.
When the practice is closed, call NHS 111. This free, 24/7 service offers help for non-life-threatening medical concerns. However, in serious emergencies, always call 999.
Situations requiring immediate attention include:
Chest pain or possible heart attack
Stroke symptoms
Severe breathing problems
Unconsciousness
Heavy bleeding or trauma
Remain calm, assist the person, but avoid offering food or drink unless advised by medical professionals.
A&E should only be used in life-threatening or critical cases. For instance, deep wounds, broken bones, or severe injuries may require emergency care. In contrast, for non-emergencies, use NHS 111 or call your GP.
Visit the NHS website for reliable, up-to-date health information on conditions, treatments, and services.
