Emil Tow is an experienced physiotherapist who treats clients of all ages, from those with acute injuries to individuals managing complex and chronic conditions. He has developed a strong interest in hypermobility, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), and Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS). Emil’s unique expertise extends to unusual injuries often seen in gymnastics, circus arts, and performing artists, making him a trusted clinician for those with specialised needs.
With a deep commitment to understanding each person’s individual situation, Emil combines thorough assessment with tailored treatment plans. His goal is to help clients recover, improve function, and maintain their physical health in the long term.
Clients can book appointments with Emil at both our Malvern and Glenelg clinics, offering flexibility and convenience.
Emil provides a wide range of physiotherapy services designed to address diverse needs, from injury recovery to chronic condition management.
Acute and Chronic Injury Treatment: Emil assesses and treats sudden injuries as well as ongoing musculoskeletal problems. He uses a mix of manual therapy, exercise, and education to reduce pain and restore movement.
Hypermobility and EDS Care: Emil has specialised training in managing hypermobility spectrum disorders and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. His approach focuses on stabilisation, pain relief, and improving daily function.
POTS Management: Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome can be challenging to treat. Emil works closely with clients to develop safe, effective exercise and self-management strategies.
Performing Arts and Gymnastics Injuries: Recognising the unique demands of performers and gymnasts, Emil treats injuries common to these activities. He helps clients return to performance with strength, flexibility, and confidence.
Dry Needling and Pain Education: Emil uses dry needling as part of his treatment toolkit to relieve muscle tension and promote healing. He also applies pain neuroscience education techniques to empower clients in managing chronic pain.
Emil holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Sports Physiotherapy and is completing a Masters of Sports Physiotherapy. He earned his Masters of Physiotherapy and a Bachelor of Applied Science (Human Biology) prior to this.
His extra qualifications include the EDS Echo program, training in Temporomandibular Disorders with Guy Zito, GEMt Dry Needling Level 1, and the Explain Pain course from NOI Group.
Emil is an active member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association and its Sports and Exercise Group.
