Fortis Strength, Rehab, and Conditioning was founded by Alistair Inglis, who brings a deep passion for strength training, rehabilitation, and performance enhancement. His journey into these fields started at the age of 12, when he became involved in his school’s biweekly arm wrestling tournament. Alistair quickly realised that in order to maintain his undefeated streak, he needed to build strength. This sparked a lifelong passion for conditioning and strength training.
As Alistair trained, he became drawn to powerlifting. Over the years, he set multiple records and became active in coaching others in the lifting community. Alongside his training, Alistair pursued an education in Sport and Exercise Science, furthering his understanding of the body’s capabilities and limits.
However, as Alistair progressed in powerlifting, he began to experience injuries. Unfortunately, many healthcare professionals he consulted offered limited solutions. Some suggested he stop lifting altogether, while others gave short-term relief without addressing the root cause of the problem. This experience led him to study Physiotherapy, earning a BSc in the field. Alistair then worked within the NHS, specialising in musculoskeletal rehabilitation, with a focus on helping athletes overcome injuries and prevent them from reoccurring.
With a unique combination of physiotherapy and strength coaching, Alistair founded Fortis to provide a more effective approach to rehabilitation and performance enhancement.
