Mr Francesco Pillitteri serves as Consultant Ophthalmologist and Clinical Partner at Newmedica Bradford and Huddersfield. He joined as Clinical Partner in October 2024 while continuing his role as Consultant Ophthalmologist at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust, a post he has held since September 2020. He earned his MD from the Università degli Studi di Palermo in 2005 and completed his Ophthalmology specialisation there in 2009. Moreover, he obtained the European Board of Ophthalmology Diploma in 2014, becoming a Fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmology. Additionally, he completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Cataract and Refractive Surgery at Ulster University between 2017 and 2018. Consequently, he combines strong academic credentials with extensive clinical experience.

Before joining Newmedica, he served as a Specialty Doctor in Ophthalmology with NHS England from May 2015 to September 2020. During this time, he was based in Chelmsford and honed his medical retina skills as an Honorary Fellow at Moorfields Eye Hospital. Earlier, he practised privately as a Consultant Ophthalmologist in Italy from November 2009 to April 2015.
