Description

Grant & Faasen Physiotherapy – Physiotherapist – Erasmuskloof

Grant & Faasen Physiotherapy – Physiotherapist – Erasmuskloof is a co-owned private practice based within the multidisciplinary Spine@Kloof. Tracy Grant and Brenda Faasen, both seasoned physiotherapists, lead a patient-centred team. Tracy earned her BSc Physiotherapy from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2001, while Brenda holds a BSc Physiotherapy from the University of Stellenbosch in 2013. Moreover, Tracy has practised across Gauteng hospitals and spent time treating musculoskeletal injuries in the Middle East. Likewise, Brenda has worked in diverse South African clinics and returned to Kloof Hospital in 2019. Consequently, their combined expertise spans over two decades.

Furthermore, they emphasize a truly holistic approach. Indeed, both founders collaborate daily with orthopaedic surgeons, biokineticists, occupational therapists, dietitians, and pain specialists. Therefore, every rehabilitation plan aligns with the latest surgical protocols and non-surgical care pathways.

Services

Grant & Faasen Physiotherapy delivers a comprehensive suite of personalized services, each built around specialized techniques and active patient involvement:

  • Orthopaedic Rehabilitation
Tracy and Brenda guide recovery after spinal or joint surgery. They use graded exercise programmes, manual therapy, and functional task training. As a result, patients rebuild strength and mobility more rapidly.

  • Spinal Condition Management
In collaboration with spine surgeons, the practice offers stabilization exercises, postural retraining, and core-strengthening protocols. Consequently, individuals with chronic back or neck pain regain daily-living confidence.

  • Sports Injury Prevention & Performance
They assess movement patterns, identify biomechanical faults, and devise pre-hab programmes. In addition, they integrate plyometric drills, agility training, and muscle-energy techniques. Therefore, athletes minimize injury risk and enhance power and endurance.

  • Manual Therapy & Soft-Tissue Mobilization
Through joint mobilizations, myofascial release, and trigger-point techniques, both therapists alleviate pain and improve tissue extensibility. Moreover, they complement these methods with dry needling when indicated.

  • Balance & Vestibular Rehabilitation
For clients with dizziness or proprioceptive deficits, they employ vestibular exercises, sensory integration tasks, and dynamic balance drills. Thus, patients restore equilibrium and reduce fall risk.

  • Ergonomic & Postural Assessment
They evaluate workstations and daily activities. Then, they recommend ergonomic adjustments and coach clients in postural activation techniques. Consequently, strain injuries decrease.

  • Chronic Pain Management
Grant & Faasen uses graded exposure, pain neuroscience education, and self-management strategies to address persistent pain syndromes. As a result, clients gain coping skills and reduce reliance on passive treatments.

Each service integrates measurable outcome tracking. Moreover, the team refines protocols based on real-time feedback and functional assessments.

Additional Information

Since its founding, Grant & Faasen Physiotherapy has prioritized continuing education. Tracy and Brenda complete regular post-graduate courses in orthopaedic manual therapy, spinal manipulation, and sports-rehabilitation techniques. In addition, they present in-house workshops for junior clinicians and allied-health peers.

Indeed, they contribute to multidisciplinary case conferences, sharing insights on movement dysfunction and rehabilitation best practices. Consequently, the entire Spine clinic maintains high-impact, evidence-based care standards.

Finally, every new patient undergoes a comprehensive physiotherapy evaluation. This includes movement screening, pain-provocation tests, and functional goal setting. Thereafter, Grant & Faasen co-creates a tailored rehabilitation plan that reflects each individual’s lifestyle demands and recovery objectives.

Whether you require post-operative support, sports-specific conditioning, or chronic-pain management, Grant & Faasen Physiotherapy’s team-driven, holistic, and evidence-based services guide you toward restored function and lasting well-being.
