Gwyn Choles Educational Psychologist Boksburg has built a strong reputation over the past 30 years, helping individuals navigate various challenges in educational psychology and psychotherapy. She has worked with clients across all age groups, from children to adults, addressing their unique needs with care and dedication. Over time, Gwyn’s extensive experience has made a significant impact, empowering individuals and families to overcome their difficulties and achieve personal growth.
Gwyn began her academic journey by completing her undergraduate studies and Honours Degree in Psychology through UNISA. She continued her education by pursuing a Master’s in Educational Psychology at the University of the Witwatersrand in 1996. During her clinical training, she gained valuable hands-on experience at Tara H Moross Hospital, where she worked in the Child, Adolescent, and Eating Disorders Units.
After gaining clinical experience, Gwyn began her private practice on the East Rand in 1998. She initially focused on providing therapy for children, adolescents, and adults. Over the years, Gwyn expanded her practice, offering individual, couple, and family therapy. She has also built strong relationships with schools, receiving referrals for assessments and therapy sessions.
Gwyn offers a wide array of services, carefully tailored to meet the specific needs of her clients. She uses her expertise to support individuals, families, and groups through various psychological challenges. She has been an active member of the Johannesburg Association of Child Psychotherapists (JACP), where she offers group supervision to her peers. Furthermore, she currently serves on the committee of the Institute of Psychodynamic Psychotherapies (IPCP) and is a valued member of the South African Confederation of Psychotherapists (SAPC). Additionally, her involvement with the Khanya Family Life Center in Katlehong has allowed her to contribute to positive changes within the community, offering support to those in need.
