The Hearing Care Centre has been helping individuals improve their hearing since 1995. Michael Fourie, the founder, originally studied Pharmacy before qualifying as a Hearing Instrument Acoustician. His knowledge and expertise, combined with a dedicated support team, allow the centre to provide personalised and effective hearing solutions.

This allows us to offer a variety of options tailored to suit each client’s hearing profile and lifestyle needs. Understanding Hearing

The ear is an extraordinary organ that turns sound waves into signals for the brain. Normal hearing occurs when sound travels through the external ear, into the ear canal, and reaches the eardrum. The eardrum vibrates, which causes three tiny bones in the middle ear to move. These vibrations are then passed to the inner ear, or cochlea, where nerve fibres (hair cells) receive them. Each hair cell responds to different pitches of sound, and the auditory nerve sends these signals to the brain.
