IBI Behavioural Services is dedicated to helping children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) achieve greater independence. We proudly earned a 2015 Premier Award nomination for “Business of the Year.” Our approach focuses on two core therapies: Intensive Behaviour Intervention (IBI) and Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), both proven to support children’s development.
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) refers to a group of developmental challenges affecting communication, behaviour, and social interactions. In some cases, children show mild symptoms similar to learning disabilities, while others face significant impairments in these areas. However, many children with autism also possess remarkable talents in fields like math, music, art, or memory.
Children with ASD often display a combination of traits, including:
Social Interaction: Challenges with eye contact, delayed responses to their name, or a preference for solitary play.
Communication: Delayed language development, difficulty maintaining conversations, or repetitive speech.
Behaviour: Sensitivity to sensory stimuli, repetitive movements, and a preference for structured routines.
These characteristics differ from one child to another, and our team carefully assesses each child to determine the best course of action for their unique needs.
We offer Intensive Behavioural Intervention (IBI) and Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), which help children with autism gain valuable skills and independence.
IBI involves 20-40 hours of ABA per week, allowing children to learn essential skills in a structured and individualised setting. Our therapists break down tasks into small, manageable steps, promoting learning and boosting confidence. With regular progress tracking, we adjust the programme as needed to fit each child’s needs.
Parent involvement is crucial. We provide support and training to ensure parents actively participate in their child’s growth. By working together, we achieve more positive outcomes for each child.
ABA is the foundation of our therapy. It helps us understand how behaviour functions and how learning happens. In ABA, we break down tasks into smaller steps and reinforce positive behaviours while addressing undesired ones. Our therapists track progress carefully and adapt the programme based on each child’s needs.
This approach uses data-driven strategies, which help us measure success and ensure the child’s progress. The therapy is individualised, ensuring children learn at their own pace.
Both IBI and ABA are recognised as the safest and most effective treatments for autism. These therapies offer a comprehensive, evidence-based approach and consistently result in lasting improvements in children’s lives.
At IBI Behavioural Services, we aim to empower children with autism by helping them develop skills that enable them to thrive. Our therapies not only impact the child’s life but also positively affect their families, creating lasting changes in their daily experiences.
