Jane Gamblin is a dedicated hypnotherapist and psychotherapist based in Cardiff. With over 17 years of therapy experience and a strong background in healthcare, she offers a thoughtful, results-driven approach to mental wellbeing.
Her professional journey began in Canada, where she qualified as a registered general nurse in 1985. She went on to work in diverse hospital settings across Canada, the Middle East, and later Cardiff. Between 1991 and 2009, she worked in operating theatres in Cardiff, which gave her a deep understanding of both physical and emotional health.
In 2007, Jane retrained in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy at the Clifton Practice Hypnotherapy School in Bristol. She then completed a Postgraduate Diploma in CBT Counselling Skills at the University of Wales, Newport (2009–2013). This combination of clinical and therapeutic knowledge enables her to support clients with clarity, skill, and compassion.
Jane provides tailored therapy for people who want to regain control, improve mental resilience, and move forward with confidence.
This method helps clients focus on achievable goals instead of past difficulties. It encourages small, positive steps, which quickly build momentum. Many people find it helpful for stress, anxiety, and emotional overload.
Jane also draws on CBT principles. These tools help clients identify unhelpful thought patterns and replace them with more balanced thinking. As a result, they often experience improved mood and decision-making.
Jane has a particular interest in:
Managing chronic pain
Boosting low confidence
Preparing for hospital procedures
Resolving phobias like fear of flying or injections
Reducing symptoms of anxiety and depression
Each session is adapted to meet the needs of the individual. This flexibility ensures effective, personalised care.
Jane’s therapy room in Cardiff offers a warm, welcoming, and confidential space. However, remote sessions are also available when needed. Her clients frequently praise her calm presence and practical insight.
Thanks to her nursing background, Jane understands how physical health and emotional wellbeing often go hand in hand. This perspective helps clients feel understood and supported from the start.
Moreover, Jane continues to enhance her skills through regular training. She remains committed to ethical practice and is accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
