I am a qualified counsellor with over 18 years of experience in national and international settings. Since qualifying in 2004, I have supported individuals facing various challenges, including depression, anxiety, addiction, and trauma. I hold several accreditations, including membership in the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and certification in the Treatment of Sexual Addiction and Compulsivity (ATSAC). My background includes both individual and group therapy, allowing me to help a wide range of clients effectively.
I believe in tailoring therapy to each individual’s needs. This approach helps my clients work through their unique struggles, whether they are dealing with mental health issues, emotional distress, or addiction.
I provide a range of therapeutic services, each designed to address specific needs. Every person is different, and I use a variety of techniques to ensure the most effective treatment.
I offer one-to-one counselling for people dealing with emotional issues, such as anxiety and depression. In our sessions, I provide a supportive, non-judgemental environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings. My approach is person-centred, which means we work together to find solutions that work for you. I also use creative methods, such as drawing and visualisation, to help express feelings that may be hard to articulate.
I specialise in addiction and compulsivity, providing support to those dealing with substance misuse, sexual addiction, or other compulsive behaviours. Using Motivational Interviewing and CRAFT, I help clients explore the roots of their addictions and create a roadmap for recovery. This method empowers clients to take control of their recovery and make lasting, positive changes in their lives.
For couples facing communication breakdowns, trust issues, or emotional distance, I offer Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). EFT focuses on strengthening emotional bonds and improving communication. By understanding and addressing underlying emotional needs, couples can rebuild trust and deepen their relationship.
I also offer Systemic Family Therapy, which helps families navigate conflicts and improve communication. This therapy is designed to promote healthier relationships by encouraging understanding and providing practical strategies to resolve issues.
Creativity can unlock deeper insights. I incorporate creative methods, such as modelling clay, cards, and games, to help clients express emotions that may be difficult to articulate. These methods make therapy more engaging and allow clients to approach their issues from a fresh perspective.
I hold a BSc Hons in Psychology/Sociology and a Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Counselling and Supervision. My professional development continues through certifications in Trauma Management, Eating Disorders, and Sex Addiction, among others. Additionally, I lecture in counselling at Cardiff and the Vale College, sharing my knowledge with future therapists.
I am committed to a personalised approach to therapy. Every client is different, and no two therapeutic journeys are the same. My goal is to work with you in a way that best suits your needs, whether through traditional therapy or more creative techniques. You can expect a compassionate, empathetic approach as we explore your challenges and work toward healing.
If you’re ready to start your journey or would like to discuss how counselling can help you, feel free to reach out. I look forward to working with you.
