Johann Krynauw is a registered Clinical Psychologist with a strong academic background and wide clinical experience. He completed his MA in Clinical Psychology and BA Honours in Psychology at the University of the Western Cape (UWC). During his studies, he received Dean’s Merit Awards for outstanding academic performance.

Johann also holds certifications in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, as well as management qualifications from UNISA and CUT. In addition, he has a special interest in developmental and attachment theory. He uses the Mastersons therapeutic technique in his practice to help clients understand and work through personal challenges.

His main focus involves helping individuals identify, acknowledge and address issues that stop them from living fulfilling lives.

Individual Psychotherapy: Johann offers personalised therapy sessions that focus on developmental problems, attachment issues and maladaptive defences.

Johann completed his internship at Stikland Psychiatric Hospital and Tygerberg Hospital. During this time, he gained experience in different therapeutic methods across various medical wards.

After this, Johann completed his Community Service year at Drakenstein Correctional Service. There, he provided psychotherapy and assessments for offenders.

Along with his private practice, Johann works as a clinical supervisor at UWC. He guides the next generation of clinical psychologists through training and supervision.
