Dr Kevin Brennan studied medicine at Queen’s University, Belfast. From there, he refined his clinical expertise in several renowned institutions—Belfast, Leicester, and finally, Newcastle upon Tyne. This diverse training equipped him with both breadth and depth in anaesthesia and intensive care.

In 2002, he became a consultant in cardiothoracic anaesthesia and intensive care at Freeman Hospital in Newcastle. Since then, he has earned a reputation for clinical excellence and team leadership. His leadership journey continued as he became the clinical lead for the cardiothoracic intensive care unit in 2005. In 2019, he stepped up further as the clinical director of cardiothoracic services.
