Ms. Lameez Abrahams serves as a Registered Psychological Counsellor at Charl Davids Psychology in Kuils River. Holding an Honours degree in Linguistics and Psychology from the University of the Western Cape (UWC), she combines academic insight with practical skill. Driven by a passion for mental health, she first pursued linguistics, then worked as a journalist for the Muslim Views community newspaper. Consequently, she returned to UWC to earn her second Honours in Psychology.
Her clinical training included internships at the TygerBear Unit of Tygerberg Hospital and a private practice in Claremont. These placements allowed her to work with traumatized children and youth from varied backgrounds. In addition, she tutored psychology students and assisted on research projects across Western Cape schools.
Furthermore, Ms. Abrahams spent three years as an Addictions Counsellor at the Sultan Bahu Drug Rehabilitation Centre, refining her expertise in substance abuse treatment. She also engages in community projects with the Mustadafin Foundation, One-to-One, UWC, and Bo Kaap Helpers, where she volunteers as a consultant. Consequently, her community-driven perspective informs every therapy plan she creates.
