Description

Lauren Marsden – Clinical Psychologist – Parktown

Dr Lauren Marsden is a Clinical Psychologist at MemoryCare Parktown, where she has practised since 2017. She earned her BSocSc in Psychology & Sociology from UNISA in 2012 and completed a BA (Hons) in Psychology in 2014. Moreover, she obtained her MA in Clinical Psychology from MEDUNSA in 2017. During her internship at Dr George Mukhari Hospital, she focused on cognitive assessment, family therapy, and interpersonal psychotherapy.

After completing community service at Job Shimankana Tabane Hospital, Dr Marsden joined MemoryCare Parktown’s multidisciplinary team. There, she co-developed the clinic’s signature memory rehabilitation workshops, blending structured cognitive exercises with lifestyle strategies. Additionally, she spearheaded the introduction of advanced digital cognitive testing platforms to ensure precise measurement of memory, attention, and executive function.

Furthermore, Dr Marsden mentors junior clinicians through weekly case-review seminars and skills-building workshops. Consequently, she upholds high clinical standards and fosters continuous innovation within the team. She also contributes to research on early detection of cognitive decline and presents her findings at local professional conferences.

Ultimately, her holistic approach combines evidence-based therapies, patient education, and compassionate support. Therefore, each treatment plan reflects both clinical expertise and genuine empathy.
