Lelani Louw Audiology – N1 City
About Us
Lelani Louw Audiology is a dedicated hearing care practice committed to improving the quality of life for individuals experiencing hearing difficulties. Established in 2007 as Louw & De Kock Audiology, the practice was co-founded by Lelani Louw and Anneke De Kock. After years of successful collaboration, Lelani became the sole owner in January 2020, leading to the rebranding of the practice under her name.
At Lelani Louw Audiology, we understand that hearing is fundamental to effective communication and maintaining meaningful relationships. Every patient we see has unique needs, challenges, and lifestyle requirements, and we are committed to providing personalised, high-quality audiology services in a friendly and professional environment. Our core values include honesty, integrity, and a genuine passion for helping people hear better.
Lelani Louw, an experienced audiologist, completed her studies at the University of Stellenbosch, earning her Honours degree Cum Laude in Speech-Language Therapy and Audiology. With a deep love for audiology and a strong dedication to patient care, she ensures that each individual receives the attention and support needed to achieve optimal hearing health.
Our Services
Hearing Testing
We offer a range of hearing assessments tailored to different needs:
Screening Tests: Designed to detect potential hearing problems in various settings, including:
- Retirement villages
- Newborn hearing checks
- School screenings
- Industrial baseline and follow-up testing
Diagnostic Hearing Tests: These in-depth tests assess the degree and cause of hearing loss, allowing us to determine the best course of action. Based on the results, we may:
- Refer patients to an Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT) specialist
- Recommend suitable hearing aids or assistive listening devices
- Suggest further diagnostic evaluations such as Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) testing for infants
- Provide industrial diagnostic reports for WCA claims
Hearing Aid Services
- Hearing Aid Selection & Fitting: We offer a wide range of hearing aids tailored to individual needs. Patients can also request a trial period before making a final decision.
- Hearing Aid Repairs & Servicing: We provide in-office maintenance, such as tube replacements and cleaning. If more extensive repairs are needed, we facilitate manufacturer servicing.
- Batteries & Cleaning Products: A full selection of hearing aid accessories and maintenance supplies is available. If we do not have a particular item in stock, we will order it on request.
Hearing Protection & Custom Ear Plugs
- Hearing Protection: We supply custom-fitted ear protectors for individuals exposed to loud noise, such as factory workers, musicians, hunters, and bikers. These protectors can be fitted with specialised filters that allow conversation while reducing harmful noise levels.
- Swim Plugs: Custom-moulded swim plugs help protect the ears of children and adults with chronic middle ear infections, ventilation tubes, or perforated eardrums. They are also ideal for surfers to prevent “surfer’s ear” caused by prolonged exposure to cold water.
