Lindsey Yves Massage Therapist Cape Town combines Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with advanced sports massage techniques to support recovery, movement, and overall well-being.
Lindsey has extensive local and international training, including specialised studies in China. She uses Eastern and Western hands-on therapies. This approach supports holistic and effective care.
For over seven years, Lindsey worked in the Physiotherapy Department at the Sports Science Institute of South Africa (SSISA). There, she treated many conditions and helped establish the Massage Centre. She also gained experience treating varied medical conditions in clinics in Khayelitsha. In addition, she works closely with physiotherapists, biokineticists, and other medical professionals.
Her main interests include pre- and post-back surgery rehabilitation, pregnancy care, and cerebral palsy. Regular study trips to the East also help her stay updated with new techniques.
Lindsey has studied and practises several TCM methods, including Tuina Chinese Massage, De Da Dun Sang bone-setting, acupressure, moxibustion, and cupping. These methods aim to improve circulation, ease pain and tension, support healing, and restore balance.
Lindsey trained at the Mel Cash London School of Sports Massage. She gained skills in sports massage, myofascial release systems, and muscle energy techniques. These treatments can support athletic performance, recovery, mobility, flexibility, and injury prevention.
Lindsey provides specialised care while working with medical professionals. Her services include pre- and post-back surgery rehabilitation, pregnancy massage, and cerebral palsy therapy. These treatments support recovery, mobility, muscle function, and quality of life.
Lindsey has treated elite athletes, professional sports teams, and world-class performers. Her sports experience includes Ajax Cape Town football, the South African Olympic and Paralympic Teams in 2004 and 2008, the SA Swim Squad, Springbok 7s Rugby Team, and Western Province Athletics.
She has also supported performers in We Will Rock You, Fame, Chicago for two seasons, Phantom of the Opera, Mamma Mia, Dirty Dancing, and Jersey Boys.
Beyond her therapy work, Lindsey actively practises Tai Chi. She is a Tai Chi 24 Yang Instructor at SSISA and specialises in Sword, Fan, Chen, and Long Forms. Her continued learning, broad experience, and integrative approach support athletes, performers, and people seeking rehabilitation and holistic care.
