Monique Groenewald Physiotherapist Goodwood provides patient-centred physiotherapy with a focus on holistic care, evidence-based treatment and patient empowerment.
Monique Groenewald is a dedicated physiotherapist and the proud owner of Monique Groenewald Physiotherapy. She believes in treating the whole person, not only physical symptoms. Therefore, she combines evidence-based care with a focus on each patient’s needs.
Monique graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physiotherapy from the University of the Western Cape in 2018. In 2019, she completed her community service at Karl Bremer Hospital. From 2020 to 2023, she worked as a part-time locum at Karl Bremer Hospital, where she gained hands-on experience across various disciplines.
Since September 2023, Monique has focused on chronic pain management and works full-time in her out-patient department. She has also completed postgraduate training in Clinical Cupping Therapy, Sports Strapping, Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation, Level One and Level Two Dry Needling, and Chronic Pain Management.
At MG Physio, Monique also considers the emotional and mental challenges that can come with physical conditions. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she remained on the frontlines and treated up to 13 COVID-19 patients each day. She helped patients manage respiratory and physical difficulties, which helped shape the compassionate care offered at MG Physio.
The practice also supports sustainability. MG Physio operates as a paperless practice through digital record-keeping, emailed exercise programmes and WhatsApp consultations. In addition, the practice minimises waste and uses reusable materials to support a healthier planet while providing convenience and efficiency.
Monique Groenewald Physiotherapy assesses, diagnoses and treats many conditions. Treatment plans support recovery after surgery, chronic pain management and injury rehabilitation.
Care includes musculoskeletal conditions, such as back and neck pain, joint stiffness and mobility problems, as well as soft tissue injuries such as sprains, strains and tears.
For athletes and active people, services include injury prevention, sports injury rehabilitation and performance enhancement.
Neurological rehabilitation includes stroke rehabilitation, spinal cord injuries, multiple sclerosis and other neurological disorders. Paediatric physiotherapy supports children with developmental delays, mobility problems and rehabilitation needs.
Post-surgical rehabilitation includes hip, knee and shoulder joint replacements, orthopaedic surgery recovery and post-fracture rehabilitation.
Monique also provides care for fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, lower back pain, neck tension, postural dysfunction and workplace-related pain. Rheumatology care supports people with arthritis and autoimmune conditions through joint pain relief, mobility improvement and inflammation management.
Women’s health services include pre- and postnatal care, pelvic floor rehabilitation and post-mastectomy physiotherapy. Respiratory care includes chest physiotherapy, post-COVID-19 rehabilitation and pulmonary rehabilitation for chronic conditions.
Vestibular rehabilitation helps people with dizziness, vertigo and balance disorders improve stability and reduce symptoms. Amputee rehabilitation helps amputees regain independence and confidence in daily activities.
Finally, COVID-19 recovery programmes use breathing techniques, mobility exercises and strengthening to support recovery from lasting effects of the virus.
