About Us

Murray Opticians in Belfast is a friendly and professional optometry practice with a dedicated team committed to providing high-quality eyecare. Led by Carmel Murray, Principal Optometrist, our practice offers a personalised, patient-centred approach to optical health. Carmel brings extensive expertise, having completed a Diploma in Independent Prescribing and a Professional Certificate in Paediatric Eye Care. Her specialist knowledge also extends to visual stress management through the use of coloured filters, offering solutions for patients with specific visual needs.

Our team also includes Cathy, our Optical Receptionist, who joined the practice in 2014. With a background in finance, Cathy brings her meticulous attention to detail to the day-to-day operations of the practice. Cathy’s calm and friendly nature ensures that patients feel welcome and supported, whether they are regular visitors or new to the practice.

Gemma, our Optical Stylist, joined us in November 2019. Having previously worked as an Optical Supervisor at Specsavers, Gemma has extensive experience in patient care. She is particularly skilled at helping clients select frames and loves staying up to date with the latest eyewear trends. Gemma’s passion for eyewear and her understanding of what suits different face shapes has earned her recognition, including winning the UK-wide ‘Spectacle Wearer of the Year’ competition.
