    About Pattigift Therapy

Welcome to Pattigift Therapy CIC, a Birmingham-based service offering African-centred therapy, training, and community healing. With over 20 years of experience, we help individuals and communities reconnect with their roots, restore emotional balance, and move forward with strength and clarity.

We centre our approach around the belief that mental health support must reflect cultural understanding. Our services are grounded in African-centred psychology and are designed to meet the needs of Black and underserved communities. At Pattigift, we promote healing through self-awareness, cultural pride, and holistic care.

Importantly, we view self-care as a revolutionary act—one that empowers not only the individual but also the wider community.

    Our Story

Over the past two decades, Pattigift has worked consistently to break the stigma surrounding mental health in Black communities. We’ve created safe spaces to explore the trauma of psychological oppression and, more importantly, to heal from it.

    We have collaborated with:

    • Individuals and families

    • Charities and universities

    • Community groups and public institutions

Our work has been supported by the Association of Black Psychologists (USA), allowing us to apply African-centred theory both practically and powerfully.

We don’t just address mental health issues—we help people understand their experiences within a wider social and cultural context. As a result, we see not just healing but transformation.

    Our Mission

We are driven by a clear and focused mission:

    • To apply African-centred psychological thinking in all our work

    • To inspire self-knowledge and personal growth in our clients

    • To offer culturally relevant and holistic therapy

    • To establish education centres for African psychological health and well-being

    • To become a recognised hub for research on trauma and oppression

Through this mission, we aim to build healthier, more resilient communities rooted in cultural identity and mutual care.
