Welcome to the Perry Clayman Project (PCP), a dedicated addiction treatment centre based in Cardiff. Founded in 2005 by Perry Clayman, a man who overcame his own substance misuse struggles, PCP was created with the belief that everyone battling addiction deserves access to quality residential drug and alcohol treatment. Perry’s vision has guided the establishment of treatment centres in various locations, including Luton, London, Chelmsford, Leicester, and Cardiff.
At PCP, we understand that addiction affects people from all walks of life. Our patients come from diverse backgrounds, ages, professions, and ethnicities. Addiction knows no boundaries, and we are committed to providing the necessary care for those in need of support.
Our team is made up of professionals who are often in recovery themselves, creating an empathetic and relatable environment for our patients. Many of our team members have been with us since the beginning, offering a strong, supportive community for those in treatment.
PCP offers comprehensive inpatient treatment programmes designed to support individuals through every step of their recovery journey. We provide flexible programmes ranging from 10 days to 6 months, depending on the patient’s needs and recovery goals. Below is an overview of our key services:
The majority of our patients begin their journey with us through a structured drug and/or alcohol detox. This detox is supervised by a specialist Doctor and a team of Nurses who ensure safe and effective treatment during this critical phase of recovery. Detoxification is essential in clearing the body of substances, enabling the patient to begin their healing process.
Once detox is complete, patients move on to our rehabilitation phase, where we provide a range of therapeutic interventions. These are delivered in both group settings and through 1-2-1 sessions. Our focus during this stage is to help individuals understand the root causes of their addiction and equip them with the tools and life skills necessary to maintain long-term sobriety.
We employ experienced Psychotherapists and Registered Mental Health Nurses to address any co-occurring mental health issues alongside addiction. Our goal is to promote holistic recovery by supporting the mental, emotional, and physical well-being of every patient.
PCP provides comfortable and supportive detox accommodation with 24-hour staffing. We understand that nutrition plays a significant role in the recovery process, which is why we employ skilled Chefs who provide three nutritious meals a day for our patients. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and designed to support healing and growth.
We also offer lifelong aftercare, which includes weekly group therapy sessions and 1-2-1 support. This ongoing care is essential in ensuring patients stay connected to the support network they need as they transition back into daily life. For those requiring further assistance, we offer safe accommodation options through our supported housing programme.
At PCP, we recognise that addiction recovery is not a one-size-fits-all journey. Our advice is always to allow enough time to fully adopt a new way of life. The longer patients engage with our treatment programme, the better the long-term outcomes are likely to be.
While we aim to help individuals ‘un-weave’ the chaos of addiction, the process takes time, patience, and dedication. Whether a patient stays with us for a few weeks or several months, our focus remains on laying a solid foundation for a fulfilling life in recovery.
If you or a loved one is struggling with addiction and seeking support, we invite you to reach out. At PCP, we are here to guide you every step of the way on your path to recovery.
