Sage Counselling is a registered charity based in Chichester, offering a unique counselling service for adults who face barriers to attending conventional therapy. These barriers may be physical, emotional, or social. Our goal is to make professional, confidential counselling available to individuals who might otherwise go without support.
Unlike traditional services, we come to you. Whether you live at home, in hospital, or in a care setting, our trained counsellors provide therapy in a familiar environment. We operate across West Sussex and surrounding areas and aim to match you with a counsellor as quickly as possible.
We are proud members of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), working within its ethical framework. Our team ensures that every client receives respectful, compassionate, and non-judgemental care.
Our in-person counselling service is ideal for people unable to travel. This includes those with limited mobility, ongoing health issues, or emotional difficulties that prevent them from attending clinics. We offer support for a range of challenges such as anxiety, depression, grief, relationship concerns, disability, and loneliness.
Counselling gives you a confidential space to speak openly and explore life’s difficulties. Many clients find greater clarity, acceptance, or strength to make positive changes. For others, therapy helps with coming to terms with situations that can’t be changed.
We offer both short- and long-term counselling, depending on your individual needs. Some clients prefer a brief series of sessions to address a specific concern, while others value ongoing support over a longer period. We tailor each approach to what works best for you.
Although we ask for a standard fee of £35 per session and assessment, we remain committed to accessibility. As a non-profit organisation, we offer a wide range of concessions. No one is turned away due to financial difficulty.
We begin with a free telephone consultation. This is your chance to ask questions, discuss fees, and learn how counselling could help you. We’ll also talk about counsellor availability and what to expect during sessions.
Sage Counselling relies on voluntary counsellors. Our costs go towards training, insurance, travel, and administration. The average cost of running the service is £30,000 annually, yet we keep fees low to support those in need.
If you’re ready to explore counselling in a setting that works for you, get in touch. We’re here to help you take that first step toward change.
