Sarah Stephen is a dedicated and experienced physiotherapist based in Rondebosch, Cape Town. Originally from Hillcrest, KZN, she completed her BSc (Honours) in Physiotherapy at the University of Cape Town in 2012. Since then, she has gained extensive experience in both hospital and private practice settings across South Africa.
Sarah’s career has taken her from rural Zululand, where she completed her community service, to Durban and Johannesburg, working alongside specialists in various private hospitals and clinics. Her experience covers a broad spectrum of physiotherapy disciplines, including post-surgical rehabilitation, respiratory physiotherapy, and musculoskeletal conditions such as neck and back pain.
In 2023, Sarah relocated to Cape Town and took over the well-established practice of Sarah Walker, situated near Rondebosch Common. With a commitment to evidence-based treatment and patient-focused care, she aims to help individuals regain movement, manage pain, and improve their overall well-being.
Beyond traditional physiotherapy, Sarah holds an Orthopaedic Manual Therapy (OMT) qualification and a master’s degree in neuro-musculoskeletal physiotherapy. Additionally, as a qualified BASI Pilates mat instructor, she integrates Pilates principles into her rehabilitation programs, ensuring a comprehensive approach to treatment.
She has a keen interest in the connection between breathing, pain, and performance, making her particularly skilled in treating chronic pain conditions and activity-related respiratory issues. Her passion lies in empowering patients to lead pain-free, active, and fulfilling lives.
Sarah provides a range of physiotherapy services designed to address various conditions and injuries. Each treatment plan is tailored to the patient’s specific needs, combining hands-on techniques, rehabilitative exercises, and expert advice for optimal recovery.
Each session begins with a full assessment to understand the patient’s condition, functional limitations, and treatment goals. A personalised plan is then developed, incorporating manual therapy, rehabilitation exercises, and tailored guidance for long-term recovery.
Sarah is passionate about holistic and patient-centred care, ensuring that every individual receives the highest quality treatment in a comfortable and supportive environment. Her hands-on approach, combined with extensive clinical expertise, allows her to provide lasting relief and functional improvement for her patients.
