At Sehat Psychology, we focus on providing expert, evidence-based psychological care tailored to your individual needs. Dr Reza Nejad, our lead clinical psychologist, brings over 24 years of hands-on experience to his practice. He is fully registered with the Psychology Board of Australia, holds clinical endorsement, and is a board-approved supervisor through AHPRA.
From the start, Dr Nejad prioritises empathy, connection, and collaboration. He believes that positive change is always within reach, and he works closely with each client to help them achieve their personal goals. Thanks to his genuine and supportive nature, clients often find it easier to open up and build trust, which strengthens the therapeutic process.
Dr Nejad earned his Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Adelaide. In addition, he holds both Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in psychology. His commitment to education and research continues through his work as a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Adelaide, where he provides supervision, lectures, and research mentoring to postgraduate students.
Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach, Dr Nejad draws on a variety of evidence-based therapies to support clients facing a range of challenges. These include:
Anxiety disorders
Depression
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
Eating disorders
Insomnia
Grief and loss
Couple therapy
Dr Nejad also has extensive international training, having studied in Spain, Belgium, and the USA, which has broadened his clinical perspective and enhanced his therapeutic skill set.
To ensure the most effective outcomes, Dr Nejad uses a range of well-researched therapeutic methods such as:
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
Prolonged Exposure Therapy
Acceptance-based and mindfulness therapies
He carefully selects the best treatment model depending on your specific goals, history, and concerns. Because of this personalised approach, clients often see lasting improvements in their wellbeing.
Beyond clinical practice, Dr Nejad actively contributes to the psychological community. For instance, he has led multiple clinical research projects, supervised postgraduate students, and delivered presentations at professional conferences. Furthermore, academic journals regularly invite him to provide expert reviews of scientific articles.
Dr Nejad is a full member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and the College of Clinical Psychologists, demonstrating his ongoing commitment to ethical, high-quality psychological care.
Over the years, Dr Nejad has worked in a wide range of mental health settings throughout Australia and the United States. This includes private practice, hospitals, and community health services. Additionally, he offers clinical supervision to fellow professionals, helping to shape the future of mental health care.
