Shanell Sampson Counselling Psychologist Rivonia through my own journey, I realized that some things require support. Change needs movement, and that movement is not a weakness. Instead, it is alignment. Seeking therapy is not about failure. It is about creating space for self-awareness and growth.
Life moves fast. Sometimes, we need a moment to pause. Therapy provides that space. I help clients see new perspectives. The world pushes forward, but here, we slow down. Carl Rogers said, “It is good to know that even one half-hour can make a difference in a life.” I truly believe in that.
Every individual deserves a therapeutic experience tailored to them. I use a Person-Centered and Humanistic approach while drawing from Attachment and Solution-Focused perspectives. Cultural awareness plays a key role in my work. I also integrate Psychodynamic Theory, allowing for deeper self-exploration.
Therapy should feel safe, supportive, and empowering. I work with clients to identify their strengths. Together, we build resilience. A strong therapeutic relationship allows for meaningful change. Authenticity is key. Collaboration is essential.
I have worked in multiple settings, including:
Each environment shaped my understanding of unique challenges. I support children, adolescents, students, and young professionals. Every journey is different, and I respect that.
Therapy should feel right for you. I strive to create interventions that align with your experience. Your story matters. Your progress matters. The goal is always growth, self-awareness, and a sense of alignment.
