Hello, I’m Emma, a qualified counsellor based in Shoreham by Sea, West Sussex. I specialise in Transactional Analysis (TA) as my primary therapeutic modality, but I tailor my approach to suit each individual’s needs. Drawing on a range of techniques, including mindfulness, visualisation, and grounding exercises, I support clients in managing anxiety and promoting self-care. I also use psychological concepts to help individuals better understand their own behaviour, as well as the processes of those around them.
With extensive experience, I work with a wide array of issues, including depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, work-related stress, and challenges related to race and culture. Whether you’re seeking personal growth, relationship support, or a way to manage stress, I am here to provide guidance and understanding.
I work with adults, couples, and young people, offering flexible therapy options. Sessions are available in person at my Shoreham clinic, as well as online, via telephone, or through outdoor “walk and talk” sessions.
I offer a comprehensive range of services designed to address a variety of personal challenges. Whether you’re experiencing anxiety, struggling with depression, or facing relationship difficulties, I can help you navigate these obstacles. I also provide specialised support for issues related to race and culture, stress management, and work-related difficulties.
My approach is client-centred, allowing me to adapt the methods I use to your individual needs. I focus on creating a space for reflection, where we explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. This process often leads to a deeper understanding of yourself and can foster positive change in your life.
I also have a background in working with children, young people, and families. Whether you’re dealing with family dynamics or needing support for a young person going through a challenging time, I can offer a supportive and empathetic space for resolution and healing.
Some of the services I offer include:
Counselling for individuals and couples
Online, phone, and walk-and-talk sessions
Mindfulness and relaxation techniques
Stress management and emotional well-being support
Guidance on relationship challenges
Support for cultural and identity-related issues
My qualifications include a BSc (Hons) in Psychology, accredited by the British Psychological Society (GMBPsS), and a Counselling Diploma in Transactional Analysis accredited by the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS). I also hold certifications in advanced clinical practice, stress management, and working with children, young people, and families.
In addition to my private practice, I am an oral and written examiner for a local psychotherapy training institute. I am committed to ongoing professional development and engage in regular supervision to ensure my practice remains effective and up-to-date. My work is fully insured for your peace of mind.
Counselling is not just about the time we spend together in the therapy room; it’s about the journey of self-reflection and growth that continues beyond our sessions. Many clients begin to notice shifts in their perspectives and behaviours as they work through their challenges, and I’m here to support you every step of the way.
If you’re ready to start your journey of self-discovery, I invite you to get in touch and schedule your first session. Together, we can explore the changes you want to make and create a meaningful path forward.
