Hello, I’m Lisa Barkley, and I’m thrilled that you’re considering working with me. My journey to becoming a counsellor has been shaped by a passion for helping others and fostering a supportive space where people can feel truly heard and understood.
For over three decades, I worked as a beauty therapist, learning the importance of creating a relaxing, safe environment. In this role, I discovered that the most rewarding aspect wasn’t just the physical changes but the meaningful conversations I had with clients. Many shared their personal struggles and victories, and I realised how much I valued being a supportive listener.
This realisation led me to pursue counselling, as I wanted to deepen my ability to help others. As I began my training, I found it to be a natural next step. Now, as a qualified integrative therapist, I draw on my experience in creating nurturing environments and combine it with evidence-based therapeutic methods to provide clients with a holistic approach to healing.
