Waite Psychology is a family-run service based in Lancaster. Founded in 2018 by Dr Jennifer Waite, an experienced Educational and Child Psychologist, it expanded in 2020 when her husband, Dr Michael Waite, joined the team. Together, they bring a wealth of experience and passion to support children, young people, and schools across the North West.
Dr Jennifer Waite earned her Doctorate in Child and Educational Psychology from The University of Manchester. Over the past 10 years, she has worked in both local authority and private sectors. Jennifer continues to offer psychological services to educational settings across the North West. She also serves as a board member and training coordinator at Link Cooperative.
Dr Michael Waite also holds a Doctorate in Educational Psychology from The University of Manchester. Before working as an Educational Psychologist, Michael had a background in therapeutic roles supporting young people. He later completed a Master’s in Psychology from Edge Hill University. Michael’s previous experience in finance and business management adds invaluable strength to the operational side of Waite Psychology.
In 2024, Jane Heyworth joined the team. With 13 years of experience as a school bursar, Jane manages the office, finances, and business development.

The team is fully registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and is a member of the British Psychological Society. They work with schools across the North West, supporting both mainstream and specialist settings.
