Description

West Midlands Autism and ADHD Assessment Service – Birmingham

About Us

Welcome to the West Midlands Autism and ADHD Assessment Service (WMAAAS), where compassionate care meets clinical expertise. Founded by two dedicated Clinical Psychologists, our service provides neurodivergent-affirmative assessments without the long waiting times often associated with traditional pathways. We are based in Birmingham, offering specialist psychological assessments for both autism and ADHD in a supportive and respectful environment.

Choosing the right service for your assessment is a significant step. That’s why we focus not only on accurate diagnosis but also on providing a space where clients feel understood, valued, and supported—whatever the outcome. Our team’s ethos is rooted in inclusivity, self-awareness, and helping individuals to better understand themselves through the lens of neurodiversity.

Our Founders

Dr Victoria – Clinical Psychologist, Co-Director

Dr Victoria is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with over 25 years of experience in clinical settings. As a registered practitioner with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), she is legally accredited to provide psychological assessments and therapy. Victoria brings a wealth of knowledge from her previous roles in both NHS hospital departments and private mental health practice.

Her clinical interests include working with individuals who are unsure whether neurodiversity plays a role in their lives. She specialises in helping people gain clarity around their emotions, relationships, and challenges, particularly those who may be struggling socially, experiencing emotional confusion, or feeling lost in their current life path. Victoria approaches every assessment with warmth, precision, and a deep respect for the individual’s unique experience.

Dr Laura – Clinical Psychologist, Co-Director

Dr Laura is a HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years of experience. She has worked across both NHS and private sectors, developing a strong clinical interest in how neurodiversity shapes identity and emotional well-being.

Laura is passionate about promoting a narrative of acceptance and strength-based understanding. She takes a holistic approach to assessments, carefully identifying both strengths and support needs. She has a specialist focus on compensatory behaviours, such as masking, and the unique challenges women face when seeking an autism or ADHD diagnosis. Her goal is to help clients see their differences as valid expressions of who they are—not as deficits to be “fixed.”
