About

Johann Krynauw is a registered Clinical Psychologist with a strong academic background and extensive clinical experience. He completed his MA in Clinical Psychology and BA Honours in Psychology, both from the University of the Western Cape (UWC), where he received Dean’s Merit Awards for outstanding academic performance. Johann also holds certifications in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy and management qualifications from UNISA and CUT. He has a special interest in developmental and attachment theory and applies the Mastersons therapeutic technique in his practice. His clinical focus is on helping individuals identify, acknowledge, and address issues that prevent them from living fulfilling lives.

Johann completed his internship at Stikland Psychiatric Hospital and Tygerberg Hospital, where he gained experience in various therapeutic modalities across different medical wards. He further honed his skills during his Community Service year at Drakenstein Correctional Service, providing psychotherapy and assessments for offenders. In addition to his private practice, Johann is also a clinical supervisor at UWC, guiding the next generation of clinical psychologists. He is dedicated to walking the long and difficult road with his clients, providing empathetic and therapeutic clarity.
