About

Dr Greg Jonsson is an experienced psychiatrist who qualified as a doctor in 1999. He specialised in Psychiatry at the University of the Witwatersrand. In 2006, he earned his Fellowship from the College of Medicine and completed his MMed in 2009.

In 2008, Dr Jonsson founded the Luthando Neuropsychiatry and HIV Clinic at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital (CHBAH). This clinic serves patients with mental illness and HIV. He also helped establish the transgender clinic at CHBAH.

Dr Jonsson started the Neuropsychiatry sub-specialist programme at the University of the Witwatersrand. He collaborated with the University of British Columbia for this initiative. In 2015, he was officially recognised in the Neuropsychiatry sub-specialty.

After seven years in private practice at Wits Donald Gordon Medical Centre, Dr Jonsson now practises full-time at Oxford Healthcare Centre. His interests include psychotherapy, neuropsychiatry, transgender medicine, and functional neurological symptom disorder.
